Lily Yeh, internationally renowned for her work using art to transform communities, had devoted twenty years of her life to the renewal of a suburban town north of Philadelphia. After thirty years of separation from her homeland of Taiwan, she has now returned to launch a public art project, leading students of the Taipei School for the Hearing Impaired on a flight of the imagination, to visit the murals of Dunhuang, the brahmin of India, the farmers of Shanghai, the indigenous people of Taiwan... finally returning to the Bao-an Temple of Dalongdong. On this large wall, they share the many splendors they have encountered in eye-catching lines and colors. Passing through a forest, viewers soon arrive in outer space. The children’s freely racing imaginations come to life before our eyes in fabulous scenic arrangements. These students who have grown accustomed to living in silence reveal their own magical inner worlds in beautiful artistic forms.
