Gene is a unit of heredity and is a region of DNA that influences a particular characteristic in an organism. Among the billions of people of the world, no two genetic combinations are identical except for monozygotic twins. Therefore, DNA identification has become an important key to criminal investigation. With the public art project, we, under the title of Gene-Hard Evidence, present a two-piece DNA-shaped hand-made rotating steel sculpture as the image of the south and north entrance of the Forensic Science Building. The idea of this work stems from the shape of DNA structure. The organic curves、hollow-out design and multicolor development of DNA STR Analysis are employed as the elements of the art work. The computer mouse shaped base manifests the technology and future potential of the forensic science in bringing itself in line with international standards via grid computing. The beauth of different dimensions of the art work is demonstrated in the corresponding top-to-bottom and bottom-to-top rotations. Combining the High Tech Crime Center and the Forensic Science Center of Criminal Investigation Bureau, this work represents its nationwide leading forensic technology, and the Bureau's incessant pursuit of improvement and innovation.
