“Tuning into Luming” uses an abundance of material from the Luming Hall in the hopes of establishing a connection between the old and new spaces.”Tuning into Luming” is comprised of three components: The Luming Radio The name of the Luming Hall, literally meaning the bellow of deer, is derived from the first chapter of “Lesser Court Hymns” in “The Book of Songs” which is a renowned poem for receiving guests. The work collects several oral memories and fragments of history and is presented through the broadcasting system of “Tuning into Luming” in the form of a radio theater. It preserves the acoustic memory of the space, allowing it to linger on, and inscribes a new welcoming poem at the entrance of the new building. “Tuning into Luming” uses an abundance of material from the Luming Hall in the hopes of establishing a connection between the old and new spaces.
