Looking back at the memories of history preserved in a building, the old banyan in front of Spot Taipei has stood tall amidst the current of time, next to the sidewalk on Zhongshan North Road. The “New Tree of Art,” formed from curving bars of steel, quietly coils around the base of the old banyan, following its growth, so that all that has transpired here is recomposed and reborn in the environment, in tree roots, aerial roots, and fibrous roots.
