Taipei's WenShan District has a hilly, varied topography, which has made it an important leisure destination for Taipei City residents on weekends and holidays. Its layered mountains, ravines, and tea plantations are part of the daily life and memory of Taipei residents. This work represents the geographical characteristics of WenShan District. The curving lines that gradually rise from the ground depict the area's topography. The series of landscape sculptures resemble a distant view of the mountains, one behind the other. The colored metallic balls scattered here and there among the sculptures allude to the tea plants growing on the sloping hills while their bright, rich palette contributes to the visual charm of the work. As motorists and pedestrians pass the artwork, they visually interact with the symbolic gateway to WenShan District in a brief but beautiful encounter.
