Garden of Knowledge

“Garden of Knowledge” is made up of two pieces from the “Knowledge” series and installed next to Spring Pond. In this location it echoes the architectural themes of Tsai Lecture Hall and Wan Tsai Research Hall to produce a campus atmosphere blending reason and passion, uplifting and encouraging students and teachers at the College of Law, while infusing this tranquil landscaped garden with art. “Knowing” is wisdom, “understanding” is learning, and knowledge is positive energy. The driving force of knowledge may serve to help people or give us the discipline we need to succeed. These are both forms of positive energy encouraging students to learn. One of the elements of the work is a projection of the character for “knowing,” in an indistinct cursive script. This represents the thirst for knowledge and the state of comprehension, urging students at the College of Law to understand the world in which we live and to dedicate themselves to the service of society and the pursuit of justice.
