To enhance the spirit of the Chee-Chun Leung Cosmology Hall, we erect in its atrium four statues of giants in cosmology: Zhang Heng, Galileo Galilei, lsaac Newton, and Albert Einstein. Each statue is 2.5m tall and 3.5m aboveground near the lower edge of the 35m tall cylindrical tube that opens to the sky. These sculptures are made of oxidized bronze with a transitional style between classicalism and modernism, to capture the sense of eternity of their historical discoveries or inventions while reveal their rustic personality in searching for truth. Each giant holds an object that represents either his historical discovery of a theoretical concept pr invention of an observational instrument: Zhang Heng with an armillary sphere, Galileo with a refracting telescope, Newton with an apple, and Einstein with a wormhole. These objects are made of stainless steel, which shine near and far. Underneath each statue, a quotation of the giant about searching for truth of the universe is engraved on the wall in both Chinese and English. These statues create an ambience for the building as a pantheon of cosmology.
