“Born of Rain and Light” is inspired by the original trees that were transplanted to new ground during the process of building Taipei Dome. A new sapling has been planted here, to grow up facing the sun and nurture the spirit of sport in Taiwan. This work is formed by two sprigs of new leaves suspended in the air, which reflect the daylight on a sunny day. When it rains, it collects the dripping raindrops, and falling channels of rain form flowing stems as they are illuminated by lights shining up from the pool below. The external weather is incorporated as an element in the work, allowing visitors to appreciate it from different perspectives at different times.
