Heart of the Fountainhead, a public art installation located on the exterior wall of the Shuiyuan Building, was created by Yaacov Agam, a pioneer of kinetic art born in 1928. It was completed in 2010 and renovated in 2025. Following this artistic renewal, it was renamed Heart of the Fountainhead: Blooming. This work integrates the themes of “flowers” and “water,” and the front facade (facing Roosevelt Road Section 4) presents three distinct viewing angles. From the left, one can see pink, white, and blue embellishments, like sparkling morning dew lingering on flower petals. Viewed from the center, a gradient of pink colors symbolizes the vibrant scenery of spring, interwoven with blooming azaleas. From the right, the transition from purple to magenta and soft pink outlines the delicate beauty of the azalea—Taipei City's official flower. The whole piece resonates with the perpetual vitality and flow of life embodied by the Shuiyuan Market.
