When many different unused lamps are collected together as an artwork, they induce a poetic re-creation of collective memory, representing the wistful recollection of different households, and conveying the spirit of days gone by. The old lamps are arranged into a large circular shape reminiscent of the sun, and LED lights serve as the source of light; thus, the work symbolizes the value of environmental protection. With an objective perspective, Brightly Shines the Sun muses on cause-and-effect relationships in post-technological civilization; consumption and environmental protection, value and essence, the future and the end of the world, insensibility and the senses. For the viewer this is a participatory experience of the entire philosophical orientation of the work: we have created a moment of thoughtful reflection, allowing viewers to pass by, and consider.
