This art installation is formed the three elements of Taiwan’s police crest. Viewed from above, the base, with its twelve pointed facets extending outward from a circular center like Taiwan’s national emblem, embodies “the solid rock of public security,” signifying that allegiance to the country and defense of society are the foundation of everything. The ears of rice on both sides, rising like the wind from the surface of the water and soaring up to the sky like a dragon and phoenix, connect the base with the shape of moving wind, as a metaphor of the students absorbing nourishment and growing strong from the training they receive at the college. At the top, the “Wings of Wind and Grain” contain a built-in rotating shaft that spins as the wind blows, turning mature rice grains into soaring wings. Placed at the highest point, they represent the crowning spirit of honor in pursuit of excellence.
