The old-time utility poles were made of solid timbers, dried and water-proofed. They stood along the streets like rows of towering trees and channeled electricity to every household. Later utility poles were made of concrete, an approach that aimed to protect the environment. We have revisited this image in our memory. a utility pole is a tree, growing in a landscape of the future. The metal parts are evocative of a tree's branches and twigs. As the surrounding trees grow, they will co-exist with the artwork for decades, their lush greenery encompassing it in a symbiotic state. Mistily Rain the Trees embodies our determination to protect the world and co-exist with Nature in anticipation of the day when everything will merge into one. That will be the most beautiful scene of all.
