BeiTou
Searching for the Rainbow Witch

In this work, the rainbow that appears in a blue sky after a downpour serves as a symbol of our hopes and dreams. It attempts to depict nature tangibly and artistically through the special characteristics of the chosen materials. The creative concept traces back to Beitou’s legendary origins as place of witches. The witch serves as a non-concrete symbol of our collective memories and spirits. By capturing nature, the artist attempts to retrace the local cultures of the past. Installed in a children’s playground, the artwork is meant to inspire children to search for the presence of the mystical “witch” while they explore and learn, and to discover that unique rainbow of Beitou amidst its mists.
