This work combines the concepts of a "natural courtyard" and "blooming flowers." The Taiwan acacia trees growing thick on the slopes of Battleship Rock form a courtyard of flora and natural elements that encircles Taipei Veterans General Hospital, its lush vegetation greeting people as they arrive. The work expresses the care and selflessness that informs medicine and nursing, while also bringing together beauty and healing. The lmages of a bountiful natural environment allude to the continuation of life and its vibrant growth. As flowers bloom in the sunlight, they convey the acceptance and love that is the foundation of any hospital. The perfect union of body and spirit, providing spiritual warmth and a visual feast.
